James: Chapter Twenty Two
James watched through the living room windows as the sun slowly rose over the horizon. He smiled to himself as he let his head fall back down onto his arm on Maze’s chest and sighed happily.
He was just beginning to drift off when his vision suddenly began to jump about and it took him a minute to realise it was because Maze was laughing quietly. He tried to look up at Maze without moving his head but it just hurt his eyes so he settled for closing them instead. “What’re you laughing at?”
“You,” he could hear the smile in Maze’s voice even without seeing it.
“Huh?” James frowned slightly. “What did I do?”
For some reason this just made Maze laugh harder. James poked him in the ribs to try to get him to stop but that just made him squirm more. Apparently he was slightly ticklish. James filed that little fact away for future reference and rested his hand back on the couch.
It took Maze several more minutes to calm down before he finally spoke again. He brought a hand up to smooth over James’ hair and said sarcastically; “You’re not gay at all, are you?”
James was too tired to do more than laugh along with the alien and shake his head as he murmured “Shut up you” before drifting off with a smile on his face.
